How do I object to a decision?
If you do not agree with the Fund’s decision on your application, you may within six weeks submit a written objection to the Violent Offences Compensation Fund Committee. In your objection you must indicate the aspects of the decision you disagree with, giving reasons. If you fail to do this, the Committee cannot process your objection.

Assessment of your objection
The Committee assesses your objection. Before it does so you will usually be invited to a hearing, during which you can explain your objection orally and answer any questions the Committee may have. You will speak to a Committee member at the hearing. A legal expert of the Fund will make notes. You are not obliged to attend the hearing. No decision will be taken immediately after the hearing. This is usually done at a monthly Committee meeting. You will be notified of the decision on your objection about six weeks after the hearing.Appeal
